• • Character • •

“A righteous youth who leads the Lycian Alliance army.”

• • Background • •

Roy is a young noble hailing from House Pherae, a house of the Lycia Alliance on the continent of Elibe. He is the son of Lord Eliwood, the standing marquess; because of his father’s illness and as a result of Lord Hector’s demise, Roy became the General of the Lycian Alliance Army in the war against Bern.

Despite his young age and lack of physical prowess on the battlefield, Roy’s commands proved to be well thought out and strategically competent; as he was trained in combat by Marcus, and tutored in military tactics by Cecilia. Most notable of all is the heart and mentality he inherited from his father, Eliwood, which drives him to always work for the least consequential solution.

Roy and his army fought against Bern’s forces all over Elibe. He learned of Zephiel’s intentions to return the world back to dragonkind, and worked to gather the Legendary Weapons used by the Eight Generals during the Scouring. Roy himself gets ahold of the Binding Blade; the strongest of the weapons, once wielded by the leader of the Eight Generals, Hartmut. With it, he battles and defeats King Zephiel.

Roy’s final challenge from there was with the Demon Dragon Idunn, once encountered and spared by Hartmut in the past. A fallen Divine Dragon whose soul was crushed by the dragons in order for her to produce soulless War Dragons during the Scouring, she abided by Zephiel’s commands to destroy those who opposed the takeover of dragonkind. As Roy fought against Idunn, his pacifistic ideals shone through. Ultimately, like Hartmut before him, the Binding Blade sensed his intentions and spared Idunn’s life accordingly.

With Zephiel’s reign coming to an end and Idunn brought back to the Nabata Village with a restored soul, Roy returned to Pherae and poured all his efforts into rebuilding Elibe after the damage. Denying the various positions he was offered in Etruria’s courts and armies, though being respected for his feats regardless. He would go down in history as Elibe’s Young Lion (若いライオン; wakai raion).

• • Personality • •

Roy is, over all, compassionate. Like his father, he holds pacifistic ideals and, at times, naïvely believes the best outcome can be achieved. But this drive of his can often be proved true; much more frequently than his efforts being in vain. Every command he orders is made with the best for others in mind, though that’s easily a point of weakness he has to bear.

Despite his capabilities, one of the biggest faults Roy possesses is his self doubt. It’s been present ever since childhood, where his inferiority complex had urged him to pick up a sword as opposed to magic, like his mentor. Roy believes that he always has to maintain an air of confidence that he doesn’t truly believe he has, for the good of the people he commands. It takes a toll on his mind, though it’s one he simply coped with instead of looking to resolve.

Roy’s kindness, in comparison to all else, is the most genuine part of his personality that he expresses openly. He’s quick to offer his help when it is needed, and he’d sit down and talk with someone if they so asked. Despite his age, Roy’s quite wise with all he’s experienced. He’s honest and upfront if he must be.

Generally, Roy upholds a serious personality. He’s the type to think things through silently and rationally, though he’d be comfortable speaking aloud to someone he trusts. Roy’s proven to be clever both on and off the battlefield. At times when he’s confident enough, he can even be witty in his remarks. He has doubts about the validity of his ideas, but his studious nature makes him capable of presenting ideas far better than he believes.

“The son of Eliwood, Marquess of Pherae and talented leader of its army.”

Need for Knowledge— Roy is always actively learning, whether it's political business, battlefield tactics, or just anything he finds himself curious about. He's extremely studious; a bookworm.Mending the Past— After the war concluded, Roy implored Cecilia to teach him how to use anima tomes; he'd always had a fascination with them, even after he had opted not to learn magic when he was offered to be taught as a child. He's not entirely good at it yet, but he's learning. One Step at a Time— Though he still tends to doubt himself at times, Roy takes many strides in building his self confidence. He can sometimes be caught doing so in simpler ways, like stopping to take a deep breath or repeating words of encouragement to himself in his mind.Reason to be Happy— Along with working on his self esteem, Roy tries his best to smile more often. He reminds himself that at times, it was alright to let loose and act his age; though usually, he has to remind himself often to actually do so.Family Affections— Possibly the only instance in which Roy would be openly affectionate is in the presence of Eliwood or Ninian. So long as they're aware and comfortable with it, he addresses them as Father and Mother respectively.Quick in Thought— Roy's reflexes are quite on-par, matched only with his constantly running mind. He always finds himself instinctively planning out how to approach a situation, even if there's really no need. Not Quite There— Roy can’t bring himself to be as openly empathetic as his father, and it’s a point of shame for him. Like other things, he finds himself actively trying to improve upon it.Recovery— Roy still has a difficult time readjusting to life back in manor Pherae. This is due to both being away from it for such a long period of time, and memories of the war instilling paranoia. Still, he tries his best to power through and recover from it, one step at a time.

• • Trivial HCs • •

Roy's flexible, acrobatic, and has quite a lot of finesse; but only on the battlefield. He's clumsy everywhere else. The type to overthink presents for other people. The closer they are to him, the more he racks his brain over finding the perfect present to give.Easily flustered. He could be composed one second, but shoot a compliment his way and he'll be stuttering trying to respond. His main steed is... fairly slow, but Roy doesn't give up on him. He's proud of the horse which he has yet to name.He isn't picky, but he has a preference towards savory foods; doesn't mind bitter foods, either.Usually always has a book he's in the middle of reading. He doesn't carry books around, but he frequents the library often.Roy definitely enjoys a good prank every now and then, so long as it isn't mean-spirited or overly harmful. He's curious about everyone and everything he doesn't know much about, but usually doesn't approach them unless the curiosity trumped the anxiety of it.He personally prefers tea over coffee, but he does indeed drink both.Has a solid habit of saying “Everyone!” when referring to his team in battle. It’s a habit pulled from his time leading an army.

• • Timeline Notes • •

My Roy is from a deathless run of Binding Blade.Along with this, he has no pre-established S-support. His game ending is simply the default Young Lion.Roy’s the son of an Eliwood x Ninian ship.Eliwood is still alive post-FE6, and— so long as he isn't in Askr, instead— Roy takes care of him whenever he falls into an ill spell.Love Abounds is a part of my Roy's canon, so yes; he gets to wield a bow!Though it's not in his canon (and in general, not very likely), I'd be entirely alright with Roy interacting with Hasha no Tsurugi characters in his respective manga timeline! (Or not; it’ll be entirely to HnT mun’s preference :>)At present, my Roy is 16.

“Marquess Eliwood's son, the next heir to the throne of Pherae.”

Support Ranks will be added once Roy interacts with other characters! Characters from different games still have equal chance at making the Support list.

For canon characters with multiple accounts that interact, the rank will not change until a main of that character is established. Characters with a (*) are characters my Roy has no main of yet. Ranks are preset, and can definitely rise with interactions!

Peri (@dolleyedpsycho)B“The first time we met was... interesting, to say the least. It involved her jumping to the outside of a window. But even so, I’m glad to be friends with someone so excitable!”
Azura (@nohrianballads)C“I get the feeling that we have more in common than I thought at first. It’s nice to know that someone else has as much insight as I do— n-not to sound cocky, though.”
Julia (@yuria_txt)C“Similar situations made way for common ground. She’s somewhat secretive, but I can tell there’s no malice in her heart. I think that’s the most important.” (...I’m sorry, Julia.)
Alm (@heroofblades)B“He’s a brave fighter with a kind heart, and I think that’s admirable. We think differently on some matters, but that makes it all the more fascinating!”
Xander (@_princexander_)C“Prince Xander’s enthusiasm is one that can only be matched by his kindness. The way he thinks and acts is sort of refreshing, for lack of a better term; and he’s a true friend, through and through.”
